Dear Ling,

I am writing to thank you for a wonderful day yesterday. Everyone in school, from the youngest child in our reception class to children in year six and teachers, thoroughly enjoyed themselves and found your presentation both educational and entertaining.

Our children were spellbound with your stories and loved your songs. The creative artwork they have produced, masks, models and pictures, reflect their enthusiasm and engagement and this was very much down to your excellent class management and genuine enthusiasm. You clearly are multitalented in the   classroom.

Children particularly enjoyed learning Chinese numbers and handwriting. This was a lovely introduction to China.

Please do show this letter to others who value bringing Chinese culture into the classroom. I cannot over emphasize how useful and effective it was.

Very best wishes,

Adrian Hamilton.    Headteacher           Normanton-on-Soar  Primary  School.

Hi Ling,

I just wanted to thank you for your wonderful assembly and workshops on  Friday. The children thoroughly enjoyed the day and will remember it  fondly as you brought Chinese Culture and stories alive for them so  effectively.

The teachers said that you totally captured the children's interest  through your storytelling and had the children spellbound in a way that  they had not seen in an assembly before. They said listening to you  playing the urhu was just magical and so beautiful to listen to.

During the workshops the children were so engaged in the Lion Dance and  under your direction became quickly skillful in playing the percussion.

You were a pleasure to have in school and we will certainly be having you
back (if you want to come)!

Many thanks once again for A FANTASTIC DAY.

Best wishes,

The Children were entranced by Ling Peng's storytelling.

The use of authentic Chinese instruments gave the Children a real experience of Chinese music.

A thoroughly enjoyable workshop in which the children experienced something of Chinese culture through music, craft and storytelling.
